Last censorship cut in the didascal describing the Mermaid character: "bra for big breasts". At the same time, a warning is given on the side - "Attention" - suggesting a later control in the rehearsal assisted by the censors.
Faced with this cut, the question arises: how did the Mermaid perform in the show?
In a conversation with Vítor Silva Tavares, responsible for the costumes and set design (which you can read in full here on the sidebar), we learnt more about this character's attire:
With big breasts! I remember putting two huge breasts on her, two balls. With Almada they could never be natural breasts. It was huge, because for Almada everything had to be huge. He was like Fellini in that respect.
And the Mermaid, who was already a bit fat, had a huge visual cut-out. But all of this was very much in line with the Master's vision.
