Sílvia Laureano Costa finished her PhD in Portuguese Studies (about ALMADA NEGREIROS's theatre) at the Universidade Nova of Lisbon, in 2017. She is a member of the Institute of Literature and Traditional Studies of the Universidade Nova of Lisbon.
Sílvia co-ordinated the exhibition "Almada still to be told" ("Almada por contar") in the National Library of Portugal (Biblioteca Nacional de Portugal, BNP), from 27.06.2013 to 05.10.2013, and the eponymous catalog (published by Babel/BNP in 2013), with Sara Afonso Ferreira and Simão Palmeirim Costa. She also co-organised the International Colloquium on Almada Negreiros at the Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian in Lisbon, on the 13th, 14th and 15th of November 2013. She co-ordinated the exhibition “A través de los Ojos de Almada” in the Universidad de los Andes, Bogotá, from 5 to 30-05-2014 and the exhibition “We, Orpheu”, organized by Casa Fernando Pessoa and Instituto Camões, in April 2015.
Sílvia co-published, with Fernando Cabral Martins, the book Poesia é Criação: Antologia de Almada Negreiros, São Paulo: Ateliê Editorial, 2015.
Sílvia co-ordinated the anthology José de Almada Negreiros: El Niño de Ojos de Gigante, translated to Spanish by Nicolás Barbosa López, Bogotá, Universidad de los Andes, 2016.
She has taken part in a number of colloquia and meetings with papers on the life and work of Almada Negreiros and published a number of essays on these topics.
