The sky is blue and the green grass more green

     Than dreamed grass when to closed eyes a bird sings.

She came towards my soul, the uncrowned queen

          Of unattainable things.

Her brows shining as a star that means

     Glory to those born under its ascent.

Her hands were trenched towards the distant scenes

          Of all my heart hath meant.

Then my pain became numb like one that sleeps

     Yet tossed from dream to dream within my heart.

And she passed by me like a saint that keeps

          God’s meanings as her part.
