Outside the town[1] of possibilities

     My garden lies

On a hill overlooking the blurred stretch

Of the disform-hushed city’s flat street-nesh 

There within which my garden seems as far

     As if in other lands it were.

Looks thus

From my garden-wall, {…} , to me

     Reality

Seems a vague white thing laying stretched and low

     In the valley below…

Something dreamt because a silent thing

     Something whereto

The sense of my desires never doth go

In the idea of my fancy cling

Behold me slopes still up the hill still higher

     Any beyond the city, at its eyes,

Streetless to compose Sea’s eternal plague

     Of its thought to desire

And the blue sky are the city’s †

     Of far smoke is a name for life being liar
