This is one of the most complete representations of the altarpiece imagined by Almada Negreiros for a wall of the Founder’s Chapel of the Batalha Monastery.

Part of this work was shown in 2015 during the exhibition Almada: o que nunca ninguém soube que houve. The remaining part was only located in 2019 and the complete work can now be seen for the first time. 

We are aware that a photographic reproduction of this work crucially helped the author develop (even further) the geometrical tracings that justify the disposition/placement of the primitive paintings in this composition.
