Do you know why?
Over a fence she flew.
The eagle said “Can I fly?”
Can you tell why?
Unto the stars she could not go.

Baby came into the world
In a basket full of flowers
Which a fairy brought, an angel
From the paradisal bowers.

III.
A philosophy of name
In the best of mind once said:
“Man is…” the rest is immaterial
And need not be chronicled.

IV.
The boy and the girl did kiss
And the world looked on with joy
At that pure touch of early bliss,
Chaste in its childly stainlessness
Given by the girl to the boy.
‘Twas the first kiss of youth, and used
The world is to those words abused –
“Purity”, “love”, “free from stain.”
Strange doctor who hath e’er confused
The medulla and the brain!

The heart’s a pump.
