For me a burning Promethean soul

That thrives for mine own suffering

The dread voice died at last in air. Upspring

From the huge bitter of unmountained crags

A form tremendous, horrible and strange;

A mountain’s bright he stood and seemed to see

The very living well-embodiment

 

Of some enormous pain, giant fears

Horror terror or heart craving pain

Stupendous rage, abnormal suffering

Of pain and woe unheard, his unknown

More horrid than felled Gorgon’s face

Would have stricken dead the Promethean eyes

Though wanted the sights terrible {…}
