This digital edition of texts by Fernando Pessoa deals with the set of poetic theorizing writings from hisArchive and brings together essays, comments, notes, sketches and fragments about literature from the Portuguese author. The documents transcribed are in Fernando Pessoa’s Archive in the custody of the National Library of Portugal, with quota E3. 3 kinds of Images:

1.) Sensuous.

2.) Spiritual.

3.) Mental.

 

Images are the product of observation; 3) of common or scientific observation; 1) of poetical observation; 2) of poetical feeling, through the medium of the senses.

 

Sensuous Images

Are of 2 kinds:

(a) simple,

(b) reflex or transmitted.

(a) Simple, where the object is presented first as it is, that is to say, without reference to any other thing. E.g., {…}

C Smeelling –

D Feeling –

E. Tasting –

 

(b) Reflex – A. “All night has the casement jessamine stirred

As imagens são o produto da observação; 3) da observação comum ou científica; 1) da observação poética; 2) do sentimento poético, por meio dos sentidos. 

 

Imagens Sensuosas

 

São de 2 tipos:

(a) simples,

(b) reflexas ou transmitidas.

(a) Simples, onde o objecto é apresentado primeiro como é, ou seja, sem referência a nenhuma outra coisa. Por exemplo., {…}
