Interventions

1. There is only one art, which is Literature. There is neither poetry nor prose – but only Literature. Literature is composed of three elements – matter, form and rhythm. 2. All the other forms of art are materializations of literary material. Painting is an isolation of the colour-element in literature. Sculpture is an isolation of the[1] form-element. Architecture is an isolation of the structure-element. Music is an isolation of the rhythm-element. The same applies to the plebeian arts – dancing, acting, eloquence, and |politics|.

3. Literature is the only concrete art, because it is the only complete art, which comprehends Reality mentally without omitting any element. All the other arts are abstractions – cold and ineffectual. An artist is a man who cannot understand any art but literature. A clear perception of the things of painters, sculptors, musicians and architects is a stage of degeneration.

A arquitectura é um isolamento do elemento da estrutura. A música é um isolamento do elemento rítmico. O mesmo se aplica às artes plebeias - dança, actuação, eloquência e |política|.

3. A literatura é a única arte concreta, porque é a única arte completa, que compreende mentalmente a Realidade sem omitir nenhum elemento. Todas as outras artes são abstracções - frias e ineficazes. Um artista é um homem que não entende nenhuma arte além da literatura. Uma percepção clara das coisas dos pintores, escultores, músicos e arquitectos é um estágio de degeneração.
