Many poets have described moonlight and its effects on the mind, its deep witchery, its spell – but none as Junqueiro in that stupendous Canção Perdida, where the loveliness, the hymns of the coming of night and of the moon are wrapped in the sentiment they produce and which that mysterious voice says for the death of days.
